What it is
Ginkgo Biloba is one of the oldest living tree species. Extracts of its leaves have been used for decades in Europe and Asia, mostly for circulation and memory in older adults.
What it does in Memoclear
Ginkgo is the ingredient in Memoclear tied to blood flow. Its leaf compounds have been studied for their effect on small blood vessels and for antioxidant activity. Because the brain depends on a constant supply of oxygen through those vessels, circulation is the first of the three pathways the formula is built on.
What the research says
The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) summarises decades of Ginkgo research. Results for healthy adults are mixed: some studies show small benefits for memory or attention, others show none. Large trials have not shown that Ginkgo prevents dementia. That is the honest picture.
Who should be careful
Ginkgo can affect blood clotting. If you take warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel or another blood thinner, or if you have surgery scheduled, talk to your doctor before taking Memoclear. Stop taking it at least two weeks before surgery unless your surgeon says otherwise.
Where it sits in the formula
Ginkgo Biloba works alongside the other five ingredients: Huperzia Serrata, Phosphatidylserine, Bacopa Monnieri, Vitamin B12, N-Acetyl L-Carnitine. Together they cover blood flow, brain cell walls, memory messengers, nerve function and cell energy in one daily capsule.
